EXCITING NEWS!!!! Ferryhill Mayor Supporting Little Treasures.

We are please to announced we have picked by Ferryhill Mayor as one of his charity for 2025 to 2026.

Our trustee Clair Black and Volunteers Clare Wilkinson and Ashleigh Craggs met with the Mayor Angus and discussed what we as a charity do for the families in Ferryhill and explained how much our service is need in Co Durham and Darlington. Angus asked if he could pop along to some of groups in Ferryhill we invited him along to our Sensory group in June were Angus met our families.

The Mayor of Ferryhill, Councillor Angus Ferguson paid a visit to Little Treasures Autism Sensory Group and to Stray Aid:

Speaking after his visit to Little Treasures the Mayor said “I had such a lovely time meeting the children, their parents and the Little Treasures volunteers at the Dean Bank Institute last Saturday, as this group is one of my mayor’s charities it was wonderful to be invited along to see the group in action, I spoke with Clair Black one of the Trustees with the charity who gave a little insight into how any funding will be used”, Clair said “ideally some of the money will be used to maintain the sensory equipment and even purchase new sensory equipment, for example, touch screen boards, fibre optic lighting, bubble lamps and bubble wands, the children love bubbles through sensory.  The long term goal for the group is to have their own Sensory Room equipped with sensory equipment.”

We are looking forward to supporting Angus on his journey for weight loss journey and at every event he holds and would like all our families to support Angus we will have sponsor sheets in our groups starting September for our families to support Angus.
